This variation of the Cross body lead is similar to Cross body lead (closed), however partners remain in an open position throughout the whole move.

Description

Starting position: Open position

1 Steps forward with the left foot. Steps backward with the right foot.

2 Steps off the followers path to the right with his right foot. Transfers the weight to the right foot. Transfers the weight to the left foot,

3 Steps out of the follower's way to her left (turning 90 degrees counter-clockwise), perpendicular to the starting position, to the left of the follower. The feet are at about shoulder width or a little wider. Steps forward with the right foot to the starting position.

5 Steps slightly back with his right foot and starts gently directing the follower with his hands towards his left. Steps forward with the left foot.

6 Pivot turns 90 degrees to his left on his left foot, placing the weight on the left foot. Steps around with the right foot while starting to turn 180 degrees left (counter-clockwise)
